I’m a firm believer that regardless of circumstances, every young person deserves the opportunity to have their voice be heard, be surrounded by people who love them, and live their passion. Being part of this conference gives all of us who care for youth a greater ability to help them realize this potential.

There is so much potential to open dialogue and shift practice to serve youth better, while honouring what the youth are telling us. This is important work and the more we understand the importance of relationshsips, the more we appreciate the experiences of youth, the more we truly implement trauma-informed practice, the more we appreciate the benefits of harm reduction, and the more we build on strengths, the more meaningful our work with this awesome population of youth can be--the better we can honour their voices. I also get to work with a steering committee of like-minded and passionate people which is good for the soul.

It's an honour to be associated a group of individuals who are dedicated to seeing the value in the life of every young person. My experience comes from that of being a mentor to several youth in care over the years, and these youth have shown me that while there are many gaps in the system of care, each of them possessed incredible strengths and talents. Our challenge is to find ways to help those strengths and talents bloom.

It is an honour to be part of the A4YC Committee since 2014. The group consists of like minded individuals that come together to provide a collaborative approach and bring awareness to innovative practices to best serve vulnerable populations. It’s exciting to see the shift in practice over the years.

Walking along side youth during their journeys has been the biggest honor of my life. Being part of the A4YC is a special space to sit around a table of like minded people. The ability to spark excitement and joy through learning and sharing is pretty darn cool!

I am passionate about working with children and youth who have diverse and unique needs. I believe that each youth has a story that needs to be heard and often do not have a space to share it. I recognize the importance of connection, not only with youth but those that work in the field and being a part of a committee that shares this same passion is extremely exciting and promising for the future of our young people.

I am passionate about working with youth because I believe in the transformative power of mentorship, guidance, and support during their formative years. Helping youth navigate challenges, explore their potential, and develop a strong sense of self is an essential part in providing quality support. I joined this committee to contribute my skills and experiences in a meaningful way, advocating for the well-being and growth of youth, while also fostering a sense of community and opportunity for youth to thrive.

I am deeply passionate about working with youth because I believe in their potential to create positive change in the world. My commitment to supporting young people stems from my desire to help them navigate challenges, build confidence, and discover their own strengths. Being part of this committee allows me to contribute to shaping a future where youth are empowered, heard, and given the tools they need to succeed.
